September Update!

Hey!

I know you probably wanted better news, but we have news only bittersweet. Technically we are almost ready to show the alpha version; nevertheless, we are not satisfied with the generation results, and we have to redesign some systems. This is the more bitter part 🙂

For those who are persistent and would like to help us in development, we want to invite you to test the so-called „technical alpha.” This means that absolutely what is generated is not the results we want to achieve, but you can help us test what is already there. You can also, of course, use this version already to play:

Just enter your e-mail address with which you are registered on KS, and to this e-mail address, we will send you the keys to Steam as the technical alpha will be ready to show. Of course, this is an option for those who have chosen the early access option.

We’d also like to invite you to our server on Discord dedicated to Never Ending Dungeon. Where we’ll be uploading more content, progress updates, and insider secrets on how what we’re doing works from the inside!

Regarding what we are doing in the project:

  • Correcting technical and graphical (mainly light) errors in the generation
  • Improvements in algorithms for generating tasks and maps.

As we wrote in the introduction, we are unsatisfied with the current generation results. For those interested in more technical terms – Never Ending Dungeon initially creates a task seed (you’ve seen examples of these in previous updates). Based on this seed, a map and content are created. All the generated elements are „thrown” into the neural network so that it learns to make them on its own. (Currently, the most advanced work is on generating the seed, and the map and content are still generated without AI). Currently, we are redesigning how the map should form to be more interesting and playable.
